Lockdown Drills for 2024-2025 School Year
The New York State Board of Regents has issued new requirements for mandatory emergency preparedness drills, which include advanced notice of lockdown drills.for parents and guardians. The new regulations take effect for the 2024-2025 school year.
Schools are required to conduct eight evacuation drills and four lockdown drills each year. Participation in these drills are required for all students and staff.
Each school within the Bay Shore School ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ will provide advanced notification to parents/guardians of each lockdown drill. This notice is intended to provide parents and guardians with time to discuss emergency preparedness with their children.
