Kwarteng, Foster, Sankar and Gogarty Win Big!
Next Meet: Bay Shore @ Lindenhurst High School 5/7/2021 The Marauders season opener for spring track was a huge success, with a win over Sachem North 88-44. Junior Kwame Kwarteng came out flying, jumping 19鈥8鈥 to take the win for the long jump. Gonyzer Foster (17鈥11鈥) and Kyle Mann (17鈥6鈥) took second and third, giving Bay Shore a sweep in the event. Kyle Mann won a close battle in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.5. Astin Swinton took the 400 intermediate hurdles, running a time of 64.0. Gonyzer Foster jumped past the 40 feet mark in the triple jump, hitting 40鈥8.5鈥 to win the event. Freshman Jake Gogarty won the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:55.6. Coming in second right behind Jake was Anthony Belford running 5:05.0. Jake would also go on to win the 800-meter run with a 2:18. Brian Sankar ran an easy 10:28 3200-meter run to take first place in the event. Peter Bagattine ran 10:43.8 to place second. Both runners will have an opportunity to break 10 by the end of the season. Kwarteng, Foster, Young, and Mann won and exciting 4 by 100-meter relay. After taking an early lead, Sachem pulled ahead going into the last leg. Kyle Mann turned on the jets to take it back for the win, with a cumulative time of 44.9. Great start to a season gentleman!
